I met Trung in a late summer afternoon. Although the last rays were fading out, he seemed to be still absorbed in work. While rearranging papers into section, Trung amorously told me about projects under construction that Thien An has launched, including the FLC Twin Towers located at the so-called golden land in Hanoi.
He said, these days, even though it has been so scorching during the day as well as muggy at night, the Project management team and workers remain determined to implement the campaign "12 days and nights" to shorten progress of project handover to the Owner. As the head of QA / QC division, Trung usually guide subordinates for professional knowledge, set method statement and supervise at the site and improve the quality profile of the project. In addition, he is involved in the construction and improvement of processes to enhance quality, optimize the construction progress as well as offer solutions to overcome technical problems that occur involuntarily in order to ensure quality requirements and safety for the project.
Working for Thien An since 2014, Trung has participated in the formulation of the tender documents at the Department of Engineering. The engineer born in 1989 said that at the beginning, he got a lot of guidance from colleagues in carefully studying the requirements of the bidding documents, drawing the technical plans, construction organization as well as BOQ proposals. After many projects and package, he gets used to the work and complete all assigned tasks.
Mr. Ngo Thanh Trung at FLC Twin Towers Project
Before working at Thien An, he used to be a field engineer for the Deo Ca Investment Joint Stock company. The work acquired traveling a lot, therefore, his parents is always expecting he can work close to his. At that time, he thought of returning to his hometown for clean food business. But civil construction seemed to be still in his blood and not long after, he was back to work. The man born in the land of Phu Tho said, right from the high school, Trung has always thought that it is inevitable for him to enroll at the University of Transport.
He joined Thien An by a coincidence with luck. He is not only fascinated by projects, especially the large-scale ones that the company has been following but also the culture of training and self-training here makes him happy and longing for identifying himself with this company. At Thien An, every Saturday afternoon, each staff member will be assigned the task of preparing topics related to their expertise and skills needed to be supplemented and present in front of colleagues and managers. Then, the team members will share more opinions and raise many questions for discussion so that all people can have a thorough understanding of those issues.
Trung said: 'Even though I major in bridge and tunnel but Thien An let me have a chance to seize much about tunnel construction and mordern foundation construction techniques ...'. The 28-year-old engineer admitted that 'When working at Thien An, my experience is low and always try hard to learn, improve knowledge, experience and skills further to meet the new requirements of the job. I'm glad that Thien An leaders always encourage and willing to create a good opportunity for me'.
Trung is also a true guitarist
Mr. Dong Quang Dung – one of Trung’s colleagues said: 'We've learned a lot of things in weekly seminars weekends and in each specific job. Trung always desire to learn and moves forward, very funny and always helps others'.
Next September, Trung will get married with a friend from college. Trung says his fiancée loves to hear him play guitar and together participate in a “warm coat for winter” program, blood donation since they were students in university. When asking Trung whether his fiancée can sympathize with a civil engineer who is always traveling far from home, he just laughed gently and cited a quote that he is favorite: 'Everything will lead to a happy ending. If it is not, it means it has not come to an end yet! '.
Saying farewell to Trung and I can truely feel his enthusiasm, his devotion to work and being brimful of hopes in life as an morning dew in the sunlight.
